I believe that diagnosing and treating hair loss is like solving a puzzle. Just as there are several pieces in a puzzle, there are often many factors that contribute to an individual’s hair loss. It isn’t until you lay out all of the pieces, examine each of them, and connect some together, that you start seeing the picture more clearly. Once the picture is clearer, you can move forward steadily, with greater confidence.

Over the years, I have found that making sense of factors that have contributed to a person’s hair loss is very important to them. I think that it is human nature to want to be in control of what is happening to us. When a person experiences hair loss, the uncertainty of what is happening or may happen in the future, amplifies that feeling of powerlessness. Having a clearer picture of the contributing factors, helps people regain a sense of control, and can help them feel more confident in choosing a way forward (with treatment options, cosmetic solutions, or otherwise).

When it comes to treating various forms of hair loss, current marketing would make you think that there are “silver bullet cures”, but this is just not the case. I find that outcomes are often more favourable when several therapies are used and can work in conjunction with each other.

I know that having multiple contributing factors and treatment options can feel a little (or a lot) overwhelming, but I am here to walk you through the process. Plus, if there was only one piece to the puzzle, wouldn’t it be a little boring ;)?
