Doctor – “You have female pattern hair loss”.

Me – “How did you come to this diagnosis? Is it genetic? Why do I have hair loss when other members of my family do not? Could malnutrition be a factor? Could malabsorption be a factor? Could extreme stress have played a role? Should I have my hormones tested? Why was the hair loss so sudden at first? Isn’t genetic hair loss gradual? Are there blood tests I should have completed? Will any of my hair grow back?”

Doctor – “You can get your ferritin tested and take iron supplements if it’s low. I recommend using minoxidil, but treatment is lifelong. You can consider a hair transplant.”
