1. Patient Intake & History Collection

The consultation starts with a review of the intake questionnaire. The intake form gathers information on medical history, lifestyle factors, hair care routines, and any concerns related to hair loss, scalp conditions, or hair texture changes. Blood test results can also be reviewed, if applicable.

2. Scalp & Hair Images

Before the consultation, the patient is sent information on how to take images of the hair and scalp from different angles. These images help the trichologist determine hair density, hair loss patterns, and scalp condition without an in-person visit. Some patients also choose to purchase a low-cost digital microscope so that they can also include microscopic images in their submission. This helps to identify hair miniaturization, scalp health issues, and other signs of various hair loss and scalp health conditions.

3. Diagnosis & Personalized Treatment Plan

Potential conditions are identified by the trichologist and a customized treatment plan is developed. Depending on the issues present, treatments may include topical serums or gels, oral medications, low-level-laser-therapy (LLLT), scalp care, nutritional and lifestyle recommendations, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

4. Follow-up & Progress Tracking

Follow-up consultations assess treatment efficacy and allow for adjustments to the hair and scalp care regimen.
